Terms of service

1. Who we are

Laika Orbit and Orbit Pro are provided by Laika Dynamics Limited, a company registered in New Zealand ("we", "us"). Contact: laika@laikadynamics.com.

2. The open-source app

The Laika Orbit source code is licensed under the MIT licence. Your use of the source code is governed by that licence, not by these terms. These terms cover Orbit Pro and the services on laikaorbit.com.

3. Orbit Pro subscriptions

Orbit Pro is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly in advance, and renews automatically until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time from the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Prices are shown before you pay. Taxes such as GST or VAT are added where required and shown at checkout.
We may change prices for future billing periods with at least 30 days' notice by email.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.

4. Your licence key

Your licence key is personal to you. Don't share or publish it. We may revoke a key that is shared, resold or used to abuse the service.

5. Third-party services

Laika Orbit works with services you connect yourself, such as Claude Code, Google and GitHub. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, under your own accounts. We don't provide, resell or meter usage of any AI model, and we are not affiliated with Anthropic or any other model provider.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Orbit Pro services (including managed build runners) to break the law, attack or overload other systems, or infringe anyone's rights.

7. Warranties and liability

If you acquire Orbit Pro for the purposes of a business, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 (sections 9, 12A and 13) do not apply, to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Changes and governing law

We'll give notice of material changes to these terms by email or on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
